President's Message
Dear Palmetto Family,

On behalf of the PTSA, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our new and returning students, parents, and staff.  I hope that everyone has had an enjoyable summer and is ready to begin another successful school year.  Through all of our efforts, we can help to ensure a positive and safe educational environment at Miami Palmetto Senior High.  Whether it’s by volunteering your time, giving a donation, or staying informed and respecting school policies and property, everyone can “support the pride.”  This year, Palmetto Sr. High will be celebrating “50” fabulous years, so please get involved and make this a special golden anniversary.

High school years are critical in preparing for the future and it is essential that we, as parents, advocate for our children, stay involved, and create a valuable sense of community.  What better way than through your PTSA!  PTSA is all about parents, teachers, students, and administrative staff working together.  Our monthly meetings include important information and speakers that keep us in touch with the many different aspects of our school community.  In addition to our newsletter, we will have an updated website and members will receive time sensitive e-mail news.  Please take the time to complete the enclosed membership forms, make that extra donation if possible, and mark your calendar with our meeting dates and events.  Your membership and active participation are greatly appreciated and we are delighted to include you in all of our activities.

I look forward to serving as your PTSA president along with an experienced and enthusiastic PTSA board.  We are excited to meet all of our Palmetto families that will be attending the new student orientation on August 15th & 16th. We invite everyone to join us at our first PTSA meeting of the year on Wednesday, August 22nd at 9:00 a.m. in the Media Center. There will be a meet and greet with our principal, Mr. Howard Weiner, starting at 8:30 a.m.  PTSA has numerous goals to accomplish and with your help and commitment, we can make a notable difference at Miami Palmetto Senior High.

Warmest regards,

Andrea Shofsy, PTSA President
